Hello, my name is Paul. I live with my wife and child in Western Australia. While I love operating my small business, I do not love keeping the books in order. For a long time, I tried to do the accounts myself. I thought I was doing a pretty good job. However, when I got a call from the tax office saying they would like to conduct an audit, my heart skipped a beat. I was really worried they would find an error and that I would end up in serious trouble. My friend recommended an accountancy firm. I contacted them and they went over my books to make sure they were in good order. They also taught me some great bookkeeping skills. This blog is designed to help others avoid the mistakes I made.
